ABOUT UMC

Background

In Bangladesh, the name United Group has become synonymous with excellence, as is evident in all our endeavours. We have already established ourselves as pioneers in providing high-quality, international standard healthcare through United Hospital Ltd., and it was only a matter of time before we ventured into the service of providing quality medical education.

To that effect, United Medical College was established in the year 2020 with the intention of producing qualified doctors to provide much needed health care at reasonable costs to the ever increasing population of Bangladesh.

Our permanent college campus and attached teaching hospital, is currently under construction at United City, in the Satarkul area of Dhaka city, away from the hustle and bustle of the main city. The area has a calm, picturesque landscape, has well-developed roads easily connecting it to the city center. We intend to build a state of the art facility with large premises, and a well-planned, modern infrastructure.

Even though our medical college is fairly new, within a short period of time, we aspire to become the nation’s premier medical college, boasting international standards.

As of now, we have enrolled our very first batch of students, whom we have welcomed from all backgrounds. This rich diversity of our student body coupled with the finest, highly qualified faculty members aims to contribute to our mission of educating outstanding health care professionals for the rapidly advancing scientific world.

In the coming years, we intend to cater to increasing number of foreign students seeking a medical education in Bangladesh.

With time, in addition to being approved by the national regulatory bodies (MOHFW and DGHS, DU, BMDC), we hope to become enlisted in the WHO World Directory Of Medical Schools and be registered by the medical councils of other countries like the UK, USA, Australia, India.

• To serve & educate the public, establish guidelines & treatment protocols to be followed by treating hospitals.
